Electronic Marketing in Action for High Country ResortsProperty Management firm High Country Resorts of Crested Butte, Colorado contracted with Websourcer Communications in January 1997. At that time, High Country Resorts was "renting" a presence under another organization's web address. High Country Resorts was ready to take a step towards Internet independence as well as establish their Internet identity. Although the domain name "highcountry.com" was already registered by another business, Websourcer assisted in the sale of the name and handled the administration of changing the ownership with Network Solutions, the InterNIC governing body. Next, Websourcer surveyed the available Internet Service Providers and chose the ISP with the best combination of price and service to do business with High Country Resorts. Great Western Electronics of Montrose, Colorado has exceeded our expectations in terms of quality, service, and responsiveness while providing leading edge technology. With High Country Resorts' site duplicated in both its original rented location and under its permanently owned virtual home "highcountry.com", Websourcer Communications added technology to the HTML source so that the best search engines would find the site with reasonable search criteria as well as build an attractive and descriptive abstract to encourage visitors. Dozens of directories and search engines were contacted with High Country's new URL. Previously using one email account for ALL business, individual email accounts were set-up for High Country Resorts principles as well as fun, easy to remember informational addresses (ski@highcountry.com and stay@highcountry.com). Since High Country Resorts owns their virtual web address, these email accounts (as well as High Country's web address) never need change again. During the summer of 1997, Websourcer Communications assisted High Country Resorts with the implementation of a real-time, on-line reservation system. The technology was an extension of High Country Resort's present property management software, provided by First Resort Software.
